How the yes or no cube works
Everything about YesNoCube, the 3D yes/no oracle, in eight short answers.
01What is YesNoCube?
YesNoCube is a free online yes or no oracle: a 3D cube that answers any question you can answer with yes or no. Type your question, the cube thinks for a few seconds, and then its answer lights up on all six faces.
02How does the cube decide?
It draws one answer at random from a pool of more than 100: plain yes and no, oracle-like lines, machine readouts and a few cheeky ones. Every answer has exactly the same chance, picked with a cryptographically secure random generator. Ask the same question twice and you may get a different answer.
03Can the cube predict the future?
No. The answers are random and meant for fun, or to break a tie when you really cannot decide. Please do not rely on the cube for decisions about health, money or the law.
04Is it free? Do I need an account?
YesNoCube is completely free. There is no sign-up, no account and no cookies.
05What happens to my question?
We store the question, its language, the drawn answer and the time, without your IP address or any other identifier, and delete it after 12 months. Please do not type names or personal details. The privacy policy has the details.
06Can I share my answer?
Yes. When the answer appears, tap Share. The cube makes an image with its answer, and you decide whether your question is shown on it.
07Which languages does the cube speak?
English, German, Bulgarian and Russian. Switch the language in the top bar; the cube answers in the language you ask in.
08Where does the idea come from?
The cube is inspired by the magic answer cube in the 2002 road movie Interstate 60, rebuilt as a precision instrument for your browser.
